Tail or No Tail

Dogs laugh, but they laugh with their tails. ~Max Eastman

Tail Docking is a very controversial conversation between Doodle Breeders. In some countries, it is even banned. It is a personal preference and for looks only. Poodles and Australian Shepards are both breeds that dock tails in their pure breed dogs. For Show animals, they have to meet standards. For the Aussie, as a herding breed, it has been docked to prevent working accidents. Doodles are not show dogs or in most cases herding/working dogs, so there is no reason to dock there tail.  I always dock Poodles and remove the dewclaws from all puppies.

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue. ~Author Unknown
